STAFF

SPRINT staff help seniors live at home safely in North Toronto

SPRINT employs caring, compassionate people who have been trained to work with seniors.

Our staff provide practical and low-cost services. Many of our programs are offered free of charge. Our staff also work with adults with disabilities who need support to live independently in the community.

It is our goal to help elderly clients live at home safely. Together with our clients, we can avoid repeat visits to emergency departments or pre-mature stays at long-term care facilities. We provide a basket of home care services and more.

NOTE: We urge our clients and caregivers to keep SPRINT informed about any changes in health status or other circumstance that could potentially compromise safety. Both the safety of the people we work with and the safety of our employees and volunteers are a number one priority at SPRINT.

SPRINT staff are specially trained to work with seniors

Personal support workers (PSW) for seniors

Our PSWs are all fully certified to provide a range of home care services, including personal care, ambulation, and household management assistance. They can provide medication reminders; they can not under any circumstance dispense medications. They can accompany a client to medical appointments; they can’t drive a client’s car. They do not provide heavy cleaning duties such as scrubbing floors, polishing silver or cleaning the oven.

Social workers at SPRINT

All our Social Workers are registered with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. www.ocswssw.org

Program activationists

SPRINT program activationists earned either a degree or diploma in therapeutic recreation or activation. Program Activationists have significant experience in leading group activities and working with older adults of diverse abilities. They play an integral role in the SPRINT Adult Day Services and Health and Wellness Programs in the community.

Assisted transporation drivers

Our drivers are regularly trained about safety procedures. They do a full safety check of our vehicles every day before starting their routes.

Management team

Our SPRINT team is guided by a group of senior directors who have a combined experience of over a century in providing home care and community support services for seniors. Our executive director has been with SPRINT for over 20 years. Our senior team provides regular training to all our staff on matters such as infection control, hand washing, food handling and many other health care topics. SPRINT is a leader in its field in providing continuing education for staff at all levels of our agency.
